As a pastor, I “know” the importance of rest; but like most in ministry, knowledge does not always make its way into real life. This retreat transformed my view of the importance of true rest, solitude, and silence. If you know you need to “practice what you preach” in this area, come to SonScape. Great job for our great God! Before coming to SonScape, I really did not know what to expect. I thought it would be a week away in the beauty of Colorado, but I could not have anticipated how much more this retreat would be for both of us. I had no idea how much I needed the rest, restoration, and encouragement that SonScape provided for my husband and me. The retreat was truly that – a retreat – from all the busyness of life and ministry. Everything was planned so well as to give plenty of alone time as well as time to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation around us. Yet, we also had wonderful times of insightful teaching, fellowship, and encouragement. We left with much to consider and apply to our lives to God’s glory.
