Ken & Sandy Moore
The Moores lead retreats at our Colorado location.
Ken and Sandy offer to SonScape extensive and rich experiences in ministry. Alongside their ongoing pastoral leadership roles, they continue to coach, mentor, counsel, and disciple both in the local church and in global mission settings. They utilize their passion for intimacy with Jesus by empowering and equipping others in the faith. The SonScape environment allows them the opportunity to encourage leaders who are also in the trenches of ministry.
Several years ago, a difficult time in their pastoral journey brought them as guests to SonScape Retreats. It was there that a fresh encounter with Jesus launched a new understanding of who God is and a passion for a close connection with Abba Father was reignited.

Ken and Sandy have served churches in Minnesota, Illinois, Alaska, and Colorado; and also are in an ongoing mission to Unreached People Groups in South Asia. Ken is an ordained minister who earned his Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Sandy is currently involved in a master’s level course in the area of spiritual leadership and direction. They have two married children and four grandchildren.
The Moore’s prayer for those with whom they are given the privilege of walking alongside is from 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (NIV), “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love.”

During my time at SonScape, I was drawn closer to God and to my spouse. Our marriage was strengthened and enriched. We left with a clearer understanding and vision for our next chapter in life, faith, and ministry. My personal relationship with God was strengthened and awakened to a new level of intimacy with God. It was a remarkable and spectacular setting to get away and spend quality (quiet) time with God and quality time with my spouse. We are excited to see where God will guide us in sharing our gifts for the good and growth of God’s Kingdom.
This week I have gone from struggling to be a person who I believed was who God desired me to be to seeing who God made me to be. He loves me the way He made me and has a plan to use those giftings. Now I will leave and continue to discover what that plan is. I came down and distraught. I am leaving excited to serve the Lord.
This was a significant time of rest and place of rest. The schedule gave a good amount of time to reflect, pray, and rest. This was well balanced by teaching time and couple times with the leaders. They were very insightful and caring, had good compassionate hearts. Ken and Sandy led without pushing but rather by invitation toward Someone more. The hosts were fantastic also with their many duties, yet we had a great time getting to know them in between. We felt the meals, hospitality, special events all enhanced the teaching, alone time, and 2-on-2 time. We loved being here especially after 18 years of anticipating, we finally made the time.
