American culture, even church culture, hinders God’s restorative rhythm. A SonScape retreat provides desperately needed rest and launches vision for taking biblical rhythms to God’s people, Jesus’ church.

We came to SonScape in a pretty healthy state, almost wondering if we “needed” to come at all. Yet, even as the wind roused the symphony of sound all around us, so has the Spirit of God stirred my heart and soul in ways I could not have anticipated. And there is wonder. And peace. The pace, guidance, and comfortable splendor of the property and facilities positioned us to receive the invitation from Jesus to rest. The thought, care, and beauty presented at each meal set a table for rich conversation, laughter, and open sharing. The honest stories from the hearts of our facilitators created a safe and trusting environment for sharing our own struggles and hurts, assured we’d be met by love. Many of the intangibles of life and ministry were discussed, always accompanied by intensely practical and wise guidance to help us better understand both ministry and ourselves and the One who called us. For us, the components of an enriching, God-honoring Sabbath practice paired with the opportunity to actually observe Sabbath, gave us concrete and accessible next steps. I’ll be recommending SonScape to all I know who are in ministry or who know someone who is. Churches, send your pastors and church staff! Ministers, go!

After 44 years of ministry, 33 years in missions, we found ourselves at a “crossroads” in need of a deep soaking in the Lord’s presence and a reminder of His guiding hand on our lives and our journey. The principles shared and unpacked during the SonScape retreat were transformational. Our personal times with our retreat leaders unpacked even further the timeless truths shared. Rich times in learning, fellowship, and renewal with God. I would highly recommend anyone serving in ministry to plan on attending a SonScape retreat.
