Our Retreat Leaders
Ken & Sandy Moore
The Moores lead retreats at our Colorado location.
Ken and Sandy come to SonScape with extensive and rich experiences in ministry. Over a span of more than 45 years of pastoral leadership, their roles have also included coaching, mentoring, counseling, and discipleship both in local churches and in global mission settings.
In this season, Ken and Sandy wish to utilize their passion for intimacy with Jesus by empowering and equipping others in the faith. Joining the SonScape team allows them the opportunity to give back to the Kingdom by encouraging leaders who are in the trenches of ministry.
Ken and Sandy have served churches in Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado, and Alaska; and in an ongoing mission to Unreached People Groups in South Asia.

In 2006, a difficult time in their pastoral journey brought them to SonScape Retreats. It was there that a fresh encounter with Jesus launched a new understanding of who God is. A passion for a close connection with Abba Father was reignited.
The Moore’s prayer for those with whom they are given the privilege of walking alongside is from 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (NIV), “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love.”
Ken and Sandy reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado. When not wearing a ministry hat, you may find Ken searching out a hiking trail, throwing out a fishing line, reading a good book, or just hanging out with his best friend to whom he happens to be married. Sandy enjoys reading, working on a craft project, playing the piano, spending time with grandchildren, or joining Ken in the outdoors.
Ken has his M-Div from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is ordained with the Evangelical Covenant Church. Sandy is currently involved in a master’s level course in the area of spiritual leadership and direction. They have two married children and four grandchildren.

I arrived at SonScape quite weary from the demands of life and ministry. From the moment I arrived and all the way through the retreat, all those attending were encouraged to rest and seek the Holy Spirit. God overwhelmed me by answering my prayer to bring a group of people together with commonalities that could love and support one another. The biggest take away from the week was the reminder that God is sovereign and that I am his beloved child. He is trustworthy in all circumstances and I can rest in him. Getting away from the hurried pace of life allowed me to hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit. I am enough. God is able to bring light to darkness. He has a plan for my life to bring him glory that is his BEST for me to encourage my growth in the knowledge and love of Christ. He uses wounded healers, so be at peace.
I came, trying not to be guarded, but we all are. Our leaders were masters at peeling away my shell. Though seasoned in ministry, I was able to explore and embrace a richer and fuller understanding of my relationship with God, and then how that translates to every aspect of my life . . . family, vocation, ministry.
I was a little concerned about “the other pastors/couples” who would be attending. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of couples who easily connected spiritually, relationally, and socially. Our hosts and leaders were phenomenal. They met our every need, served us in love, and set the tone for each day and our overall experience. Looking for a mountaintop experience? SonScape is for you!
