Before coming to SonScape, our ministry, marriage and family time were on a spiral downward. We knew something had to change. Upon starting our retreat, God had taken away every obstacle and we were ready for a new journey.
Words describing our week are: peace, rest, joy, solitude, deep times with God, laughter with each other, joy of new friends, and especially affirmation that we are in the center of God’s plan. I am so excited with the new found understanding of who I am and how to ‘press on’ with joy into the ministry God has placed us in. I am determined to find those places of margin and the deep pools of replenishment letting Him fill and guard my heart.

I really don’t know where to start. Words can’t express what was happening and now is happening. I was burned out, running on empty, disillusioned, aggravated, and ready to quit vocational ministry as a pastor. Truth, freedom, grace, mercy, and forgiveness were things I was attempting to share with others, but they were not happening in my life. I was walking and ministering more by the power of my flesh rather than God’s Spirit. I was caught in the performance trap and still seeking success by the world’s standards. I was afraid to draw close to my Abba Father because I was afraid that He would reject me.
God used our leaders to pour life, truth, encouragement, and good back into my heart and soul. I am now willing to persevere and continue on in vocational ministry. Thank you again and again!!
