I am a children’s minister at a very large church. As a woman in ministry, my husband and I came to SonScape in the midst of a three-year struggle with infertility. This, coupled with the pace of ministry, left me feeling lonely and spiritually drained. I came to SonScape seeking rest and renewal and left with so much more. The quiet hours with God, the insightful teaching, and the time with my husband was like a drink of water for my dry and dusty spirit. My very favorite part was the one-on-one time with the retreat leaders who spoke truth, insight, and encouragement into our lives. The Lord used many things during the retreat to show me what He wants to change and prune in me. I came to SonScape tired, worn, weary, and dry and left knowing that a week in His presence had been balm for my soul.

Ministry often falls into a pattern of constant busyness and increasing activity at the expense of the minister’s personal time pursuing a deep relationship with God. SonScape is not only an amazing time to stop and breathe deep the breathe of God, but also reminds us to start our service to God by deepening our relationship with Him first and foremost. When we truly put God first, all else falls into proper alignment.
